With the award-winning three-day event just steps away from their Southsea terminal, Hovertravel had their busiest ever Victorious Festival this bank holiday weekend.
Loretta Lale, Head of Commercial at Hovertravel, said: “We have been adding extra services late into the night to help the festival guests return to the Isle of Wight, once the music stops. By adding five extra services on Friday, Saturday and Sunday we provided the closest and fastest way home from Victorious. Hovertravel’s team of committed staff, including the people not seen such as the engineers, stay late to make these late-night services possible and we all appreciated the gratitude shown by our customers over the weekend.”
All Hovertravel’s additional services were booked to full capacity, creating a busy, fun post-party atmosphere in the terminals. Starting at 2230, Hovertravel operated from Southsea every 30 minutes until 0030 on each night of the event.
Loretta adds: “Hovertravel is able to offer extra services for major events such as the Isle of Wight Festival, Victorious and the Great South Run because we have the operational flexibility to add in more crossings very quickly. When this is combined with our market-leading journey time of ten minutes, we become the obvious choice to cross the Solent.
