At Bodster Equine Assisted Learning C.I.C. we offer sessions for anyone aged 6yrs to 90 yrs old, where people develop self-confidence and explore communication through interaction on the ground with our ponies. There is no riding involved! We facilitate sessions where our ponies help learners understand how ponies communicate to each other and alongside this learners also develop key skills such as English and Maths as well developing soft skills such as problem solving, team work, self-awareness and self-esteem.
Our courses allow learners to develop in a calm unique learning setting. We use Natural Horsemanship and look at how horses learn using a step by step approach. Learners develop skills such as grooming and leading and working loose with a pony and learners will be given feedback afterwards and plans for future goals/targets for themselves. Horses do not judge and live in the moment.
At present due to Covid19 we are offering “Virtual” sessions online and we can also offer one to one sessions in person with social distancing and have new policies and procedures in place and a Covid19 Risk Assessment which we follow in order to minimise risk of Covid19. All Bookings must be made by contacting us first to discuss arrangements required.
We are part of the Isle of Wight Short Breaks system but at present can only offer 1:1 / family sessions as “respite support” rather than an activity session. We can not at present run normal group Short Breaks activity sessions. Bodster CIC is a Short Breaks Provider and offers sessions to people with Gateway Cards”
