Over the two weekends of Half Term (25th October & 1st November) the swimmers at Ryde Swimming Club were set a challenge to swim either 2K or 5K during a session (2hours) in order to raise money for their club. The swimmers at Ryde Swimming Club range from 8 to 19 years old and train at Waterside Pool 3 - 5 times per week. Although the swimmers are used to swimming a fair distance during their training sessions, this is usually with periods of rest and in varying strokes and drills.

Ryde Swimming Club were one of the first clubs to restart in the country and Donna Adam (Head Coach) as well as the rest of the coaching team and committee have been really impressed with the attitude and dedication of the swimmers, especially with the huge amount of change they have had to adapt to. All the swimmers have shown huge progression and maturity.

Todd Miller (Chairman) “ I am tremendously proud of all of our athletes, it has been a slow progression building everyones fitness back up. That said all the swimmers have worked extremely hard and more importantly are thoroughly enjoying being back with their swimming friends/ family. It makes all the hard work behind the scenes worthwhile.”

All the swimmers completed their 2K or 5K swims and raised a total of £2,040! All swimmers pictured received a medal and certificate for their amazing achievements.
