Are you stuck for Christmas Present Ideas after a rather difficult 2020? Would you like to give a gift with more meaning, whilst supporting a local charity? If the answer if yes, then how about giving a gift of an adopted donkey at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary? After a difficult year, this is a fantastic way to support the Donkey Sanctuary, by adopting one of their 96 donkeys, or perhaps a Shetland pony, or even our one and only mule!
By adopting one of our beautiful animals, you will be helping the sanctuary to keep doing a fantastic job of caring for all of their rehomed animals. Some animals have not had the best start in life, but once they arrive at the donkey sanctuary you can rest assured they have the best care possible. Your adoption could go towards the cost of a vet visit for routine vaccinations, a trim up of hooves by our farrier, a teeth check by the equine dentition , a bale or two of hay and straw, or even some hard feed for our old and proud herd who need the extra nutrition daily.
The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary is based between Shanklin and Ventnor on the road to Wroxall and we are open all year round from 10:00am till 4:30pm*, weather permitting. Everyone is welcome to come and visit our lovely donkeys including well behaved dogs. The charity relies entirely on donations, adoptions and the many fundraising activities held throughout the year.*Closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
The staff, volunteers and most importantly the donkeys wish you a very Happy Christmas, and a healthy New Year
